It identifies your bank account that you own it and transact with it. Without it, you cannot transact with your bank account.
That's why it's very important that you should have a written copy of your bank account number.
In this case, if your PNB account number is lost or have forgotten, you can know it in many ways.
You can determine or know your PNB Account Number in three ways:
Option 1Go directly to any PNB branch and request for retrieval of your account number. This is free of charge.
Option 2If you have a PNB online banking account, you can see your account number there. If you do not know what's online banking, it's PNB's website where you can access your bank account there, inquire your account balance, view your transactions, transfer money, pay your bills there online, etc. It's banking in the internet. That's why it's called online banking.
If you want to apply for PNB's online banking, you can go to PNB's official website (www.pnb.com.ph).
Option 3Call PNB Customer Service and request for retrieval of your account number. If you're lazy to go the PNB branch, you can just call PNB Customer Service Hotline Number: (02) 526-3131 to 70, or (02) 891-6040 to 70.
Take NoteSome of you might think that your bank account number can be found in the ATM card. No. It's not printed in the ATM card.
What are those numbers printed in front of the ATM card. It's the ATM card number and not the account number.
My Suggestion to PNB Online Banking SystemPNB should have an account number online retrieval system in which you can retrieve your account number in their website without the need to log-in.
PNB should use 2FA (2-Factor Authentication) security system. A client's mobile phone number should be enrolled or registered in the bank for this purpose.
This is how the account number online retrieval system works. A client will fill-out an online form in PNB website (which includes their Full Name and Birthday) in order to access their account number. Then, for security system, the client who requested the info (account number) should receive a security code in their phone that will allow the request to go through. After entering the security code, the account number will be automatically shown to the client. Simple as that.
