Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) approves Metrobank's Request To Exercise Call Option On P8.5 Billion Lower Tier 2 Note

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in its letter dated September 7, 2012 has approved the request of Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company to exercise its call option on its P8.5 billion Lower Tier 2 Note on October 22, 2012.
The early redemption is in accordance with the terms of the Note issued on October 19, 2007 giving the Bank the option to redeem the 10-year Note on its fifth year anniversary as follows:

Call Option AmountThe face value of the Note, plus (i) accrued interest covering the 20th Interest Period at the interest Rate and (ii) accrued interest from the end of the 20th Interest Period up to, but excluding the Call Option Date, at the Initial Interest Rate
Call Option Date and Payment DateOctober 22, 2012
Last Trading and Settlement DateOctober 12, 2012
Book Closure Date/Record DateOctober 15, 2012
Payment ProcedureAmounts due to Noteholders as of October 15, 2012 based on the records of the Philippines Depository Corporation (Registrar) will be paid in the customary manner by which previous interest payments were made
