Open or Apply a BPI Account in Canada?

"My mother is in Canada right now. She wants to open a BPI account (could be ATM account or Passbook) in Canada. Do you have any branch in Canada where she can open an account? If none, is there other way for her to open a BPI account in Canada?"

Answer:

Please be informed that Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI) do not send ATM cards abroad due to security reasons. While abroad, your mother may proceed with the account opening provided that she will be able to submit the account opening requirements at the BPI Express Remittance Centers (BERC). See below for the list of BERC's in USA. Please note that for the application, she will be required to visit at a BERC.

In case there is no BERC in her area, BPI regrets to inform you that they will be unable to process your application.
