FOURTH YEAR

Shipboard Training (Cadetship)
  • Undergo an approved seagoing service on a seagoing ship powered by a main propulsion machinery of 750 KW propulsion power or more, of not less than 12 months as part of an approved training program which includes onboard training that meets the requirements of Section A-III/1 of the STCW Code is documented in an approved Training Record Book (TRB); or
  • Otherwise have completed combined workshop skills training and an approved seagoing service of not less than 36 months of which not less 30 months shall be seagoing service in the engine department and in addition, have performed during either instance of required seagoing service, engine-room watchkeeping duties under the supervision of the chief engineer or qualified engine officer for a period of not less than six (6) months.
    • MARINA (STCW Cir. No. 2014-02) - "Daily Journal of Engine-room Watchkeeping Duties" DJEWD), showing specific engine-room watchkeeping activities for a period of not less that one hundred eighty (180) days. With an attached Ship's crew list (showing completed name, Certificate of Competency details and country of issuance).

Admission Requirements:

  1. Freshmen/High School Graduates:
    • Original Form 138 / report card
    • Certified true copy of Birth Certificate (NSO)
    • Original copy of Certificate of Good Moral Character
    • NCAE Result
    • Four (4) pcs. of 2x2 colored pictures
  2. Transferees:
    • Original transfer credentials
    • Informative copy of Transcript of Records (TOR)
    • Original copy of Certificate of Good Moral Character
    • Four (4) pcs. of 2x2 colored pictures
  3. Cross Enrollees:
    • Cross registration papers
    • Four (4) pcs. of 2x2 colored pictures

In addition to the above requirements for BSMT and BSMARE (as per CMO #13 & 14, Series 2013), the following medical exams prescribed by the Department of Health (to be done annually/yearly) are also required:

  • Urine examination
  • Stool examination
  • CBC examination
  • X-ray examination
  • Psychological testing
  • Eye sight (Ishihara for BSMT and Lantern or any other color perception test for BSMARE) examination
  • hearing examination

Note: Only students who passed the Eye, Hearing, Physical and Medical Examination shall be eligible for enrollment.
