Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Cost-Recovery Adjustment on Cargo-Related Charges for Foreign Containerized and Non-Containerized Cargoes

INTERNATIONAL CONTAINER TERMINAL SERVICES, INC. (ICTSi) was informed through a notice that was published in Philippine Star and Manila Standard on June 16, 2012 that the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) issued Memorandum Circular No. 07- 2012 regarding the Cost-Recovery Adjustment on Cargo-Related Charges for Foreign Containerized and Non-Containerized Cargoes at South Harbor and Manila International Container Terminal, which provides that:
"Pursuant to Board Resolution No. 2279 dated June 11, 2012, the cargo-related (arrastre) tariff on international containerized and non-containerized cargoes at South Harbor and the Manila international Container Terminal (MICT) are hereby adjusted, as follows:

1st Tranche - Eight (8%) percent increase on the present rate to take effect 30 days after publication of this Circular, and

2nd Tranche - Seven (7%) percent increase or a total of 15% increase over previous tariff and not compounded, to be effective six (6) months after the first tranche."

The subject PPA Memorandum Circular shall take effect thirty (30) days after its publication on June 16, 2012 in the above-mentioned two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
