34th National Conference on National and Local History of The Philippine National Historical Society (PNHS)
The Philippine National Historical Society (PNHS) together with the
National Commission for Culture and the Arts-Committee on Historical
Research (NCCA-CHR), Liceo de Cagayan University, Philippine Social
Science Council (PSSC) and the National Commission for Culture and the
Arts (NCCA) will hold its 34th National Conference on National and Local
History with the theme History and Culture on October 24-26, 2013 at
the Liceo de Cagayan University, Cagayan de Oro City, Negros Oriental.
The Conference aims to:
enhance the participants’ knowledge and understanding of Philippine history and culture as seen from the perspectives of different disciplines;
promote to them a deeper appreciation of Philippine culture and traditions;
promote to them awareness of current social issues and concerns in the study of Philippine history;
provide them with a groundwork from where future historical research can take off or emanate; and
provide them with a venue or forum by which recent studies and research can be presented and discussion can be conducted.
The target participants to this activity are PNHS members, elementary and secondary teachers from both public and private schools.
