Fourth Philippine Geography Olympiad (PGO) of Geographic Society of the University of the Philippines (GSUP)

The Geographic Society of the University of the Philippines (GSUP) will host the Fourth Philippine Geography Olympiad (PGO) on November 30, 2013 at Room 400, Palma Hall, College of Social Science and Philosophy, UP, Diliman, Quezon City.

The Competition aims to:

1. promote the discipline of Geography among high school students;
2. introduce Geography as a discipline that deals with the study of the earth as the home, and a possible career path where students are taught skills in analyzing geographic patterns, observed on the earth’s surface, as well as understanding human-environment interaction; and
3. provide participants with a venue to share their knowledge and interests in Geography.

This Event is open to all secondary students from both public and private schools nationwide.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.

The deadline for submission of registration form is on September 27, 2013. More information may be inquired from any of the following:
