The Kritika Kultura (KK), the international e-journal of language, literature and cultural studies of the Department of English, Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) will conduct its first-ever Kritika Kultura International Conference series, delving on the subject of translation and globalization with the theme "Traveling Texts: Translation and Globalization” on August 10-11, 2012 at the ADMU.
Among the important aspects of translation and translation studies to be discussed are the following: - Translation and its imperial connections;
- Translation in a cultural context;
- Translation as a form of research; and
- Translation as creative practice.
The Conference will gather top translation practitioners and scholars not only from all over the country, but also from the Asian and Southeast Asian regions.
