In line with the theme "Women Weathering Climate Change: Governnance and Accountability, Everyone’s Responsibility,” the celebration aims to: 1) raise awareness about the Magna Carta of Women, Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and the United Nation (UN) Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); 2) promote women empowerment and gender-responsive budgeting in public schools; and 3) underline their role as workers in organizing to promote decent work, good governance and quality public services in time of economic distress and climate change.
