Executive Summary
Delicious has been acquired. If you are a Delicious user, you need to:
- Sign in to Delicious, accept the new TOS, and create a password if prompted to do so.
- If password creation was required, in step #1, sign in to Packrati.us and re-register your Delicious "Old School" account using your account name and new password.
Delicious has been acquired by the founders of YouTube, they announced, today.
According to the announcements, the new owners intend to "continue providing the same great service users love and make even easier and more fun..."
In order to keep using your Delicious account, uninterrupted, you need to sign in at Delicious and accept the new AVOS terms of service. This will allow Delicious to transfer your bookmarks and account information to AVOS when it is handed off in July.
IMPORTANT If you have a Yahoo! linked Delicious account, you will be prompted to create a new password. This process will un-link your Delicious account from Yahoo's authentication system.
It is very important that you then sign in to Packrati.us and register your Delicious account as an "Old School" account using your Delicious account name and new password.
If you already have an "Old School" account, you will not be prompted to create a new password and no action will be necessary on your part to keep your account integrated with Packrati.us.
I'm really pleased to see Delicious continue and grow. The bookmarking space has become quite diverse and competitive. Packrati.us now provides access to several bookmarking services:
- Delicious
- Diigo
- Historious
- Instapaper
- Pinboard
- Read it Later
- Scuttle
