PhilHealth Suspends the Implementation of the Nine (9) Months Contribution as a Requirement for Benefits Availment

On May 27, 2011, PhilHealth issued a circular regarding the suspension of the Implementation of the Nine (9) Months Contribution as a Requirement for Benefits Availment.
PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Rey Aquino said that the implementation of PhilHealth Circular No. 25 s. 2010 relative to the "Nine (9) Months Contribution as a requirement for Benefits Availment" is hereby held in abeyance subject to further evaluation of the concerned operational units relative to the proper definition and application of the requirement on sufficient regularity. He added that this deferment will be in effect until the issuance by the PhilHealth Board of the appropriate policy relative to the requirement of 'sufficient regularity' as basis for entitlement to benefits per Section 42 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 7875, as amended.
