3rd Philippine Geography Olympiad (PGO)

The Department of Geography, College of Social Sciences & Philosophy (CSSP), University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman will conduct its 3rd Philippine Geography Olympiad (PGO) on December 1, 2012 at the Philippine Social Science Center (PSSC), Auditorium, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
The Competition aims to:
  1. promote the discipline of Geography among high school students;
  2. introduce Geography as a discipline that deals with the study of the earth, and a possible career path where students are taught with skills in analyzing geographic patterns observed on the Earth’s surface, as well as understanding human-environment interactions; and
  3. provide a venue for high school geography enthusiasts to share their knowledge and interests in geography.
The Contest is open to all secondary students from both public and private schools.

The deadline for submission of accomplished Registration Form is on or before November 9, 2012.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled "Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.”
