Computation of Public School Teachers' Proportional Vacation Pay (PVP) for School Year 2010-2011

This is to provide the field offices with a uniform basis on the computation of the Proportional Vacation Pay (PVP) entitled to each of the public elementary and secondary school teachers under the teachers leave basis.
Teachers who have continuous services for the School Year 2010-2011, from June 15, 2010 to April 8, 2011, shall be entitled to 74 days total PVP earned from summer and Christmas vacation days, computed as follows:

Total no. of days served from June 15, 2010 to April 8, 2010
= 298 days
Less: No. of Christmas vacation days earned from December 18, 2010 to January 2, 2011
= -16 days
Actual days served
= 282 days
Multiply factor
x 0.262
Total PVP earned from the no. of summer and Christmas vacation days
= 74 days
Less: No. of Christmas vacation days
= -16 days
No. of the summer vacation days earned from April 9 to June 5, 2011
= 58 days

Factor 0.262 shall be used for the computation of absences and PVP this school year. Below is the derivation of factor 0.262.

No. of summer vacation days
=   58 days
Add: No. of Christmas vacation days
= +16 days
Total PVP (Summer and Christmas vacation days)
=   74 days
Divided by actual days served
=  282 days
Multiply factor
= 0.262

yes! there is a uniform guidelines on the computation of PVP to be exact if you have 2 to 5 days LEAVE WITHOUT PAY, YOUR DEDUCTION IS GOOD FOR 1 DAY. BUT IF YOU HAVE .5 TO 1.5 DAYS WOP YOUR PVP WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.
