SEAMEO Regional Center for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnel in Language Research Grants (SEAQIL REGRANTS) 2011

The SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in Language will hold a programme of SEAMEO QITEP in Language Research Grants 2011 (SEAQIL REGRANTS 2011) which is financially supported by the Ministry of National Education, Republic of Indonesia. The Programme aims to:

1. facilitate high quality research in second/foreign language education (Arabic, Chinese, German, and Japanese) and Indonesian Language for Foreign Learners from the Southeast Asian region;
2. expand access of language education professionals and education policy makers in the region to high quality research; and
3. support the establishment and sustainability of active research links between language education professionals and policy makers in the region and beyond.
   

All education professionals are invited to submit their proposals on Second/Foreign Language Education Research. The proposals should focus on any of the following strands:

1. Learning and teaching of second/foreign languages (Arabic, Chinese, German and Japanese) and Indonesian Language for Foreign Learners;
2. ICT and new technologies in second/foreign languages (Arabic, Chinese, German and Japanese) and Indonesian Language for Foreign Learners;
3. Innovative teaching media in second/foreign languages (Arabic, Chinese, German and Japanese) and Indonesian Language for Foreign Learners;
4. Second/foreign language teacher education and training;
5. Second/foreign language testing and assessment and applications of the CEFR;
6. Second/foreign language training and education programme evaluation; and
7. Mother Tongue-Based Bilingual/Multilingual Education (MTB-B/MLE).
   

Proposers for the SEAQIL REGRANTS 2011 should be citizens from SEAMEO member countries, nominated by their head / director of institution and are education professionals in the area of second/foreign language education (Arabic, Chinese, and Japanese) and Indonesian Language for Foreign Learners from accredited schools/universities/institutions/organizations which offer excellent quality of education in the area of research in the region.
