Fitted with the Cedarapids 6203 20’ × 6’ horizontal screen box (approx. 6 × 1.8 meters), the 984 has a triple deck, triple shaft and features an adjustable forward and elliptical throw. This screening action allows the operator to regulate the plant to suit the application and produces a remarkably high rate of clean products from the on-board conveyors, giving four specific grades of material.
At Hillhead 2010 Terex Finlay dislayed ten different tracked mobile crushing, screening and washing machines, including the new J-1480 jaw crusher, the C-1550 cone crusher, and the 984 mobile horizontal screener. With high capacity throughput, the 984 horizontal screener can achieve specifically-sized end products required for many road-building and construction contracts. According to the manufacturer, high performance 984 can also easily manage crushed stone, sand and gravel, coal, recycled concrete and asphalt.
The 984 also features a 8 m³ direct feed hopper fitted with variable speed control, crash bars, heavy duty gearbox, hydraulic drive and a rear flap that can be lowered to accommodate direct feed from a crusher if necessary. The four hydraulically folding stockpiling conveyors are all angle-adjustable, have a maximized discharge height of up to 4.8 m and have infinitely variable belt speed control for optimum material feed performance.
A fifth recirculation conveyor is also available as an option with direct hydraulic drive making this feature an exciting option for those requiring clean and specifically sized end products. The system has a travelling width dimension of only 3 m, and once on site the 984 can be operational within the hour.
