Camera lens hood on DMC-ZS40

Camera lens hood on DMC-ZS40

One of my DMC-ZS40's has a lens hood that does not retract. It came off ( I droped the camera) I have snaped it back into place buy it is loose. What am I missing? I see the three pins sticking out and what they fit it into. They snap back into place but dont lock into position.
