Flash player won't play sound

Flash player won't play sound I have recently re-installed Windows XP on my PC and I cannot hear any audio from Flash steams such as YouTube videos. I can hear it from Silverlight streams and from things such as Spotify. It just seems to be Flash. I have tried the following regedit:

I reinstalled the audio drivers and it now seems to work fine! strange!
