HELP! My Adata Hard Disk cannot be detected through my laptop at all..

HELP! My Adata Hard Disk cannot be detected through my laptop at all...I know it is obviously dead but is there anyway to retrieve all of the data in my hard disk? It make a clicking sound for a few second... then it dies down. Is there anyway or anyone can help me with this?

The click usually indicates a stuck head . If you dont have the means to pay for recovery you can try this video You may want to first remove the hard drive from the enclosure and use a SATA to USB adaptor like this to test to see if the problem was not the enclosure itself . Be ready to back up all info if you do get the drive running because any failed drive is never a drive to be trusted again . Hope this helps

"Sorry to say, but when a HDD is plugged in and clicks for a few seconds then stops it means that some part of the drive hardware has failed.

You can try taking the drive out of the enclosure and plugging into a computer via sata and try some data recovery software. But I'd hazard to guess it wouldn't produce results.

The only option then that I could advise would be to send the drive off to a local data recovery service."
