How do I get my MacOS X terminal key mappings fully in sync with my Windows XP key mappings?

How do I get my MacOS X terminal key mappings fully in sync with my Windows XP key mappings? I have a Windows laptop at work, running cygwin. I'm very comfortable with its key mappings.
