How do you repair a rip in a fleece jacket?

How do you repair a rip in a fleece jacket? My 10 year old son was playing outdoors in his fleece jacket today. The jacket has a front zipper and two pockets for one's hands. The jacket ripped / was torn by a large stick perhaps near the front hand pocket area. How does one fix this? Glue a patch? Iron-on a patch? Sew it? Send it back to Patagonia?

Any or all of those, except glue, could be answers depending on the hole. If it is small enough you can iron on a patch. If it is a larger tear you can satin stitch the hole. Do not glue on a patch as it will wash and wear funny, causing more wear on the jacket. You can check out our patching guides listed below for inspiration.
