"some screen need a newer ios to work

for example if your iphone 4 or 4s is operating on ios5

it may need to be updated to the latest ios for the screen to work."

The issue is that the newer aftermarket screens don't support the pre iOS 6 software. I guess the third party manufacturers changed something in the backlight of the LCD.

"I just did this,

it would not start until I plugged the phone into the actual iphone chord connected to a computer.

Once I did that it started right up.

Very odd behavior, but was a nice easy fix in the end. After it booted ( I did not update anything ) I was able to remove it, and it operated fine."
