Is it normal to have a loud fan on PS3 FAT with some games

so i have this PS3 FAT (model CECHL04) that i dusted off and changed the thermal paste on and most of the times the fan makes a pretty much average sound however when playing games like the last of us and some chapters in beyond two souls the fan goes into jet engine mode. is it normal for a later model FAT PS3 to get into such loudness or the result of it being more graphic intensive games?

If you haven't cleaned the inside of the console then it needs to be free of dust in order to be more quiet. Also the thermal paste of CPU and GPU must be replaced. There is the possibility to clean it and replace the thermal paste but PS3 to have very fast and loud fan! This is problem of the GPU or CPU. You have to remove the silver metal over GPU and CPU. It is called IHS. I would suggest to remove the GPU IHS and replace the thermal paste there too. You can found enough videos of PS3 IHS removal. I had mine removed and replaced thermal paste and then fan started to worked like it used to!
