problems setting up simple windows home network

I have an outright embarrassing problem to set up a trivial Windows home network. There are two PCs, A running Win XP pro, and B running Win XP home. Both connect to the Internet via a simple wireless router.

Go back and check your settings for the firewall that you're running. Quite possible that one or both are blocking them from seeing the other computer.

Have you tried temporarily disabling all firewalls (windows firewall and sygate) on the two machines? If it starts working after disabling the firewall then you'll be sure of the culprit.
