Replaced iPhone 5 battery now phone won't turn on

Hi, I replaced my iPhone 5 battery and now it won't turn on. I tried rebooting it, nothing happened. I tried hitting the vibrate button to see if it was the LCD and no vibrate. I have had it plugged in now for 30 min to see if the battery was just dead and it still won't turn on. Any suggestions?

"Fun fact: Some aftermarket / bad quality batteries do not allow you to restore your phone and cause the issues you are having.

Buy a quality battery such as ones from iFixit or eTradesupply.

Also check the charger port for any dust or lint. If there is, use a toothpick or equivilant to clean it out."

I had the same problem. Took the phone apart again and I had the black piece from the battery on the leads wrong. I had to make sure I carefully put the little piece between battery & mother board, then put the leads on the board. Phone works again! Awesome! I praise God for helping me understand what I had done wrong. I hope I explained it well. Hm, the little piece that is attached to the battery with the leads on it-at first I was just placing it on the motherboard, what happened is the little piece of plastic was covering the leads, so motherboard could not read it. I took the little flap & unfolded it off the leads then put that down between the battery & motherboard & then the area with the leads laid on the motherboard and viola, the phone works with new battery! Yea!

"Tried everything else and nothing work for me. What did work after 15 tear downs was changing the orientation of the cable. Basically a replacement battery requires you to fold the ribbon yourself so it is in the correct position for the connector to attach and the ribbon to fit down between the battery. First I folded the ribbon the same way as the battery I removed from the iPhone. The iPhone would turn on no problem if I had the screen not fully fitted back into position, as soon as I would push it down it would go off and wouldn't start. Pull it up again with suction cup and it worked again, seems to have been a grounding/shorting issue.

As a last ditch effort I carefully bent the battery ribbon with the connector in the other direction opposite of the oem battery (over not under) and it worked perfectly ever since. Hope this makes sense and works for someone"

1. Double check the battery connector and front panel assembly cables are reseated properly.

If the power and home button don't work then you have damaged componants that surround the battery connector and most sumthing else that's y the phone will not turn on

My problem was the display. I replaced the display two weeks before with an aftermarket LCD. It is possible that was damaged when I reopened it. I put back my cracked original LCD and it started back again.
