Replacement of cracked LCD cover (plastic? glass?)

I have a crack on the LCD cover of my Olympus E PL-5 camera. All camera functions remain OK, and it was just irritating. I tried to fix it with windshield crack repair (glass), and actually made the crack to grow worse. From the related question, the cover may actually be plastic and there may be a way to fix without sending to Olympus repair for $142 or more. Can someone help me locating the part and fix it myself (in ifixit spirit)? Thanks.
