Restore error 9 and 14 after fixing iPhone screen. What to do?

My iPhone 5s screen cracked, so I replaced the screen. When I replaced the screen the battery wouldn't charge, so I turned the phone off. When I turned it back on again, it was stuck on the Apple logo. I then restored it—but in the middle of the restore, the phone stopped working. Now the phone is stuck on the "connect to iTunes" error and when I try to restore it, I get mostly error 9. I tried all my computers (2 Macs, and a PC) and all the USB hubs that they have. What do I do? Thanks.

"You are incredibly lucky if simply backing off the screw on the LCD shield in the bottom rightmost position will solve your blue screen problem.

Most of the time, error 9 is due to trace damage on the board from overtightening the wrong ""long screw"" into this short screw bracket. This can be solved, but it is a major board repair.

Error 14 is usually unrelated to long screw damage and may be related to battery, touch ID, or the tiny U16 chip on the board.

Most of what is written on this page---usb and antivirus/firewall is a massive waste of your troubleshooting time and completely irrelevant to a clear underlying problem."

"Sounds like you put the screws back in the wrong places. It is important that you keep track of them as they are different.

I would double check that your board isn't damaged from this."

I had same problem. I tried restoring the phone but kept getting error 9. All i did was took the the bottom left screw off cover plate that covers the lcd and digitizer flex connectors and shifted the cover plate a little to the left. i also loosened the bottom right screw on the cover plate. then i tried restore the phone and the phone restored as normal.

"Hi Guys,

this is not a software Issue error 14 is hardware issue.

check the hardware problem and then try. this Thanks

"According to the Apple support page, error 9 correlates to your antivirus software or your firewall hindering connection with Apple's update servers while error 14 correlates to an interrupted USB connection. So check your antivirus make sure that its not blocking iTunes and check your USB cord make sure its not broken in any way or use another cord.

For me, I prefer to always download the latest firmware from http://felixbruns.de and then boot the iPhone into DFU mode and then do a shift+restore from iTunes. I never run into any errors through that way.

For your reference to any iTunes errors

Best of luck"
