Touch function does not work on the bottom of the screen, why?

Touch function does not work on the bottom of the screen, why? I have replaced the part and the installation proved to be easier than I though, however once I turned the phone back on, the touch function does not work at the bottom of the screen, I cannot hit the space bar and the lower letters...nothing...what do I do?

I believe you have a faulty piece of hardware. Maybe it was messed up during transit, or maybe you just bought a faulty one.

"I had this same problem. Multiple restores, cleaned and reseated contacts, to no avail. I decided to try downgrading to 3.1.3, and after downloading an ipsw, trying to restore with it and getting an error, I restored to 4.2.1 without issue, bottom working perfectly. I'm not offering this as a tutorial as I'm mainly an Android guy, but it definitely worked for me.
