Why did my home button stop working?

Ever since I replaced the charging port and flex ribbon, the home button stopped working. Did I lose or damage a piece? If so, what is/are the piece(s) called to that I can order and replace?

Okay, so I had the same problem. Only the back and open apps buttons worked. Went back in and realigned lines on the ribbon cables with the lines on the circuit board and BAMM, the home button works..

Hard for me to recall. I think that the home button ribbon plugs into the charging port on that one. So you may just need to make sure they are plugged in all the way.

No usefulness to this if you have to build a reputation to vote down unhelpful advice

"This one was an easy fix for me.

The connection to the mainboard is where the problem is.

There is a line eitherside of the ribbon cable, make sure the mark on the ribbon cable lines up with the ones either side."

I noticed the same thing. I found the fix if interested still. There is a little piece that you have to put back under the plastic tab connected to the USB part. It must get connected back to the other connector part hidden under the plastic casing (tab).
