Why do I get these Flexgate like dark areas.

Why do I get these Flexgate like dark areas.

I have a Macbook Pro Late 2013. I got these dark areas at the bottom of the screen. I opend the MacBook cleared all the dust. Also disconnected the screen cable, cleared it with a brush and connected it back togehter.

One of your backlight strips of LEDs are not working. This is either damage to the screen or the motherboard. Both are repairable. If you want to try DIY repair, the first step is to rule out a bad screen—but that can be expensive since it is more common for this to be water damage to the motherboard. Motherboard repair requires Microsoldering so it’s doable but requires special tools and equipment and training/experience.

@saeniv - Before you do anything drastic I would inspect the display connector area. often I find the pins are damaged in someway so one of the LED sets is not powered.
