Why does vertical line appear on documents using ADF as source

Why does vertical line appear on documents using ADF as source

If I copy from the flatbed everything works fine. However if I copy or scan using the ADF, then a black vertical line appears down the center of the output document.

It took spraying condensed air on the rollers to clear up my problem.

Tried wiping the ‘small glass panel on left’ with a dry cloth but this didn’t help. Went at it again with a cloth dampened with alcohol screen cleaner and problem solved.
