Why no sound for cable but sound for Netflix?

Why no sound for cable but sound for Netflix? Don't have sound on regular cable tv but Netflix has sound when used? Is there something wrong w cable?

Question: My Netflix works. But, I have no sound from my Samsung cable issued box when I watch cable. Could it be the HDMI cable?

Check the volume and mute options on the set top box.

I did not have tv sound, but Netflix sound on my TCV roku tv. I unplugged the HDM! cable and the power cord to the back of the cable box. I came back a few minutes later and plugged them both back in. Success!!
