Why won't my Kindle Fire turn on or charge?

Why won't my Kindle Fire turn on or charge? I haven't used my Kindle Fire in a month or two, but today I tried to turn it on. I held in the power button and some weird music played and a dead battery symbol showed up on the screen. I plugged it in. Now it has been charging for 2+ hours and it is still doing the same thing.

Likely this is just a very dead battery. One of my customers had to let her device charge for ovber 30 hours before it would even turn on. Please give it at least 24 hours on a known good charger to let it bring itself back up to snuff.

I just got my kindle as a gift from my job I used it and when it went dead I plugged it in for a few hours and now it won’t come on at all and I only used it that day so it can’t be the battery and I wanna no what to do
