Windows 7 resets monitor positions after ending task on a full-screen app

Windows 7 resets monitor positions after ending task on a full-screen app When I end task on a full-screen app, usually a game, or when it crashes to desktop, the monitor positions and orientations reset to default. This is getting old, fast. Is there a simple way to save and restore monitor positions and orientations in a hurry?

Seems to be a bug in Windows they aren't willing to allocate the resources to fix. Adding an answer so I can accept it.
