Would you guys please do a guide on hinge fix/replacement if possible?

Seems these models now that they are a couple years older tend to break the screen hinge somehow. Would love some help or suggestions on at least where to find a part to fix with.

"Hi @jjtortilla ,

Here is a link to the service manual for your laptop.

On p.57 you will find the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the hinges.

On p.73 you will find the part numbers for the hinges (item #9) and the LCD cover (if necessary - item #10). Search online using the part number only will give you results for suppliers of the part.

Hopefully this is of some help."

"Jayeff’s answer was great. I had a detached hinge (the glue between hinge and back of display failed), and decided to re glue it. I sanded the surfaces to be attached with 80 grit sandpaper and epoxied them together. No need to replacement parts.

Just in case it’s helpful to others, I’ll add to the answer above in that:

I think the prerequisite steps are pretty much necessary (event though i would’ve like to because the hinge is sort of hidden under everything.Make sure that the hinges are well aligned so as to prevent any extra tension in the hinges. I did the alignment by temporarily attaching the hinges to the base and then marking where the hinges would sit on the display’s back with a marker.

Now let’s see how long this lasts. I used “Bostik’s Epoxy Rapid 2 Component Epoxy”."
