Are the internal hard drives pre formatted?

Are the internal hard drives pre formatted?

I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere on here. The internal hard drives for sale for the xbox one s on ifixit.com that can replace my corrupted drive do not seem to have it mentioned but are they pre formatted? I get error codes 101,102 and 106. My hard drive is corrupted and will not allow me to do anything. Thank you.
