Battery cover door will not close and latch

Battery cover door will not close and latch

I have 2 Nikon Coolpix L18 cameras. Both battery cover doors will not latch and stay closed. One cover has been replaced, but still will still not stay closed. It is not a very good advertisement for Nikon to see covers held on with tape,which sometim es is not too effective.
