How do I identify parts that may have been broken in a fall?

My Kitchenaid mixer worked its way off the counter when I was making bread dough. I halfway caught it, but it did hit the wood floor fairly hard. Now it hesitates before running. It does run but the motor has a high pitch sound. I have a pro 600.
