Is it possible to use a pc hard drive in an xbox?

Is it possible to use a pc hard drive in an xbox? A friend was curious about upgrading his 320gb xbox. He thinks that since the hard drives look similar (computer hard drive and xbox hard drive) that it might be possible for it to work. Someone please help.
