My computer wont recognize my iPod when I plug it in

My computer wont recognize my iPod when I plug it in when i plug in my iPod to my computer it says usb not recognized and it works perfectly it plays music and every thing the only problem is that my computer won't recognize it.

to help you we need more information.Is the USB problem the only issue or do you have more trouble like a.e. you can't play songs... Did you drop the iPod or did it got wet ?"

it sounds like a problem with the compters usb port. also it could be a problem with the cord itself, and lastly it could be the port on the iPod shuffle. i would recommend a teardown if you know what your doing. but more information would be nice. :)

Try a reset. The Apple support troubleshooter will walk you through this.
