My Halloween Furby (1998) turns on, then goes right to sleep.

My Halloween Furby (1998) turns on, then goes right to sleep. He turns on (has new batteries) then immediately goes to sleep. For a while he interacted with my Royal Furby fine, but now they’re not. Things like “Dance"!” are not happening. Can I fix my Halloween Furby?
