The turning on my skateboard is messed up

When I'm skating and I try to turn right it turns left and vice versa, how do I fix it? What is the problem so I can stop the next time.(its a new board.)

"Hi there! Seems like an odd problem you are having. Here are some basics for turning that may help:

Applying pressure to your toes will allow you to turn in the direction your toes are facing. The board will tip slightly in that direction and the board should smoothly turn. To stop making the turn simply center your balance on the board, keeping your feet flat. To turn in the opposite direction, put pressure on your heels and your board will tip back to make a smooth turn toward your heels.

It is possible that the trucks may be too tight making turning difficult. Loosening the large center bolts on the trucks will loosen the trucks making the board more responsive to weight shifts for turning.

To ensure your trucks are on correctly, check out this guide: Skateboard Skateboard Trucks Replacement.

Hope this helps. Good luck!"

You may have broke your bushings by tightening your trucks to tight when you bought your board. Next time break in your bushings by not tightening or loosing them for a couple days of riding. Then adjust to your liking. Also good replacement bushings are Shortys Doh-Dohs.

You probably have the trucks facing the wrong way. I did that once with a longboard (its truck orientation is opposite to a normal skateboard's – with the kingpin facing inwards; a longboard has outward facing trucks) so it'd turn the opposite direction.

your trucks are facing the wrong way, take a picture of your board before uninstalling anything. Then reverse the trucks. Your end result should look different than the picture...
