Water got in the vent of my xbox and wont turn on

Before i went to bed i set a cup of water on my xbox because it is on the desk right next to my bed and I must have knocked it over while i was asleep and when i woke up I went to go play fortnite and at this point i didnt know that my xbox was full of water. When i loaded into the game my screen went black and my xbox shut itself off. When this happened i lifted my xbox up and much to my surprise a wave of water came out of the sides and right on to my lap. As soon as this happened I went to youtube to see if there is a way to fix it and a lot of videos said if you tip it over on its side for a few hours it should be fine but all the videos warned not to turn it on until it is dry. So i was wondering if there is anything i can do for my specific problem or if i fried the motherboard.

So my Xbox was under my ac vent when it leaked and this was in June yesterday I went to just give it a try on turning it on and it turned on all the way the. Today I went to turn it on it’s doing the same thing it was doing when water got in on and right back off so I’m just gonna wait some more months and then try it again.

I had this problem too, anywho. Here is my story about that. So, on accident I knocked a cup of water over. It was 87% full before i knocked it over. Knocked it over, lots and LOTS of water came out and a bunch dripped ALL over my Xbox fans. (IT EVEN DRIPPED ONTO THE XBOX POWER BUTTON!) My anxiety went BAM after i saw that, ran for a towel came back to clean it. (I was too late to get the water that dripped down into like down down down into my fans of my Xbox.) I actually cleaned ALL of the water off of my Xbox, but i did not know that i had water inside my fans. Went to play my Xbox with my friends on Discord, and 10 minutes later. I experience a sound that sounded like the Xbox power off sound, I thought I was hearing things but oh NO NO NO! My screen turned black 3 seconds later, I did not know what to do at this point. So I got that same towel again, cleaned it for no reason. And I unplugged it so it would not electrocute me, I turned on the controller. It turned on my Xbox again! But it just turned off again, and again. So my cousin came to check it out, oh to her suprise she tipped it over and 4 medium sized drops came out of the fans. I felt it, it was actual water.. But its drying off now so its fine!
