Why won't my camera will not hold date and time?

Why won't my camera will not hold date and time? My Canon Powershot SD450 will not hold the date and time settings if I power it off. If I set the date and time and keep the power on, the settings will stay. When I power off the camera off, the settings are lost and when I power back on, the settings are zeros.

A rechargeable lithium battery is built into the camera to save such settings as the date/time" This is from the user manual page 4 for your camera. So, all you would have to do is to change the battery and then reset your time/date. Here is the service manual that deals with it as well. Good Luck

My camera does not have a battery. It is run by capacitor.
