Bought earphone replacement parts and still not working?

My iPod was only playing in one ear and I just replaced my earphone cable and jack bought from ifixit and it's still playing only on one side???

ANSWERS:

open your iPod again and check the orange parts - marked in the picture (ok, it's only one ornage part left - the other blew up)

Ok What do i do to fix this one then?
