green light blinks 7 to 8 times then stays on
I turn on my LG Model 37LC7D-UB the green light blinks 7 to 8 times then stays on but no picture do I have to have cable to it

Janet Musella you will have to have some video input (cable, DVD, game console etc.,) but none of that would cause the blinking. The 7 blink code could be a power supply issue as well as a failed inverter board and lastly your panel as well. LG has issues with backlight arrays. So once your TV is on and you have a video source connected, see if you get audio. If you get audio, shine a flashlight beam at an angle against the screen. Check to see if you can make out silhouettes or anything. Eventually you will have to remove the back of your Tv and take a look at the boards.
