My headphones are not working all the time

My headphones are not working all the time I have tried to change my batteries, but it doesn't seem to work. Sometimes when it is still for around 15 mins the light turns on but it turns off again. Also if it is on, and i lift it off the table, it switches off again. I thing there might be a loose connection somewhere, can someone help me. ANSWERS:
