My LG43UJ6300 turned off and was smoking. Should I try to fix?
"For several weeks we’d been having intermittent problems:
(1) First was that it would not power on after being fully powered off. (We turn off the power strip that controls our cable box and peripherals every night). We fixed that problem by NOT fully powering off the tv, but letting it stay in standby mode."

"janet yes, absolutely can you fix this yourself. Going by your symptoms prior to the “smoke out” it appears as if this is related to failed components on your power board (most likely). We would have to see more. Remove the cover from the back of your TV and take some good pictures of your TV’s boards. Post those with your question so we can see what you see.
