"Sounds like the ""blend doors"", or the ""blend door actuator"".

These internal vent doors move to adjust the cabin temperature, for the driver and passenger.

You can fix it yourself and save a lot of money. They are usually located behind the glove box, but you will have to cut away some plastic at specific locations to access the area.

I had fixed my Jeep Grand Cherokee by watching some videos, bought parts online from the same place that had great instructions that went with it, and fixed it in a few hours.

I didn't stumble onto a good video for this vehicle yet.
