"SOLARIZATION" on VIZIO M801d-A3 80” LED TV
My VIZIO M801d-A3 80” LED TV appears to have what I think is called “SOLARIZATION”. When I power up the tv it looks almost like a photo negative. After maybe 20 minutes the color/picture returns to normal then can toggle back and forth between good/bad. I’m building up some courage to take that beast off the wall and open ‘er up and start replacing the boards (T-CON, POWER, etc.) but would love some input before I do so. I’d much rather spend a few hundred to try to do this myself vs. throwing it away and buying a new set for a few grand. The tv is 5 years old and VIZIO says they can’t do a thing to help. Awesome.
