Truck won't start after changing 4 wheel drive transmission to a 2 whe

Truck won't start after changing 4 wheel drive transmission to a 2 whe I changed my truck from a four-wheel drive to a two-wheel drive now it will not start as if the ignition is not telling the starter to engage or truck is in gear is there a sensor that I am missing that needs to be disconnected
